The Gwenllian Court was built in the 19th century as a gentleman's country residence for the owner of Kidwelly Tinplate Works. These Works have recently been restored and are now a fascinating Industrial Museum located close to the hotel. In its original guise as a Victorian country mansion it was situated in fine grounds and orchards which became a favourite haunt of local Victorian society and played host to many elegant occasions.
